Yes, yes, yes – I can finally call this palette my own. Ever since I spotted the sneak peeks months and months ago, I’ve been been eagerly awaiting the launch of this beautiful palette. And after the very naughty US only releases, and obvzzz the blogger/vlogger exclusives being splashed about the internet, I was starting to get a teeny bit impatient whilst waiting for the US release.
Eventually, the palette launched online on the Debenhams website pretty randomly (it was a few hours late due to technical difficulties) but luckily I kept checking the site and I snapped one up – phew! I haven’t had long to play around with this palette, and as far as I’m aware this is still available on the Debenhams website. I really wanted to let you all know what I thought of it incase you’d like to bag one for yourself, because I can’t imagine it’s going to be around for long…
I can’t believe that I’m about to say this, but I love the packaging more than I love the Original Chocolate Bar palette – yep, it’s that gorgeous. It echoes the same cutesy embossed style as seen on the Chocolate Bon Bons palette, but the hearts are swapped for lil’ peaches and the casing has an orange to pink gradient colour. The little peach image with girly writing on the front is also a really cute touch!
The inside is pretty much the same as the Chocolate Bar variety, however I absolutely love the improved pan sizes. It’s great to get the same amount of each shade, as I definitely feel a bit robbed when I get a bigger pan of a shade that doesn’t rock my boat. A big yassss to the gold-lettering shade names for each of the pans.
There’s also a little “How-To Glamour Guide” tucked inside the cardboard outer-packaging which is great for novices or beginners who want to learn how to create a look from the shades in the palette. I probably won’t be using this but it’s great to have for reference if you’re not sure which blending shade to pair with a shimmer, etc.
Uhhh this palette is my eyeshadow heaven. Beautiful highlights, a mixture of cool and warm browns, and then pink & purple toned deliciousness – all in one palette. This palette is a great one for brown eyes, which I loveeee. Plus, there are only 3 shadows that I don’t see myself reaching for, or getting much use out of, which is a definite win for me. (These are Bless Her Heart, Candied Peach, and Talk Derby To Me)
Okay, so of course I’ve been planning out my weekly eyeshadow looks so I can really get using this palette, and my favourite combinations have got to be:
1. White Peach, Luscious, Just Peachy, and Charmed, I’m Sure in the crease.
2. Nectar, Luscious, Cobbler and Peach Pit in the crease.
3. Nectar, Bellini, Detectable, and Puree in the crease.
Let’s get down & dirty and talk about the one thing that everyone wants to know about this palette – does it actually smell like peaches? In a short answer, yes it most certainly does. It has a tiny bit of freshness to it, so I’m not sure if it contains menthol or something (not enough to cause a problem with my allergy – don’t worry!) It smells good enough to eat (but don’t ok) and the formula actually contains antioxidant-rich essence of peach.
I do feel like this formula is creamier than it’s Chocolate Bar sisters. It feels beautifully buttery to the touch and glides on the lid like a dream. Plus, they are just as pigmented as I expecting them to be – so I’m most definitely not disappointed.
Due to the lack of pigmentation in some of the darker matte shades in the Original Chocolate Bar palette – I was expecting the same to happen in this one. I’m not crazy about the matte shades – apart from Charmed, I’m sure – and there always seems to be a useless dark glittery shade in every one of Too Faced larger palettes. Here, it’s Talk Derby To Me, which is utterly useless, super chalky, and lacks pigmentation.
This is totally summer in a palette. I am so glad that I splurged on this gals, it’s changed my summer makeup game up! It has some really beautiful pink-toned shades that I wouldn’t pick up elsewhere, and the neutrals are my go-to shades every time. I seriously can’t wait to play around with this some more!
Did you splash out on the Sweet Peach palette? Hot or not?
