Views You Can Expect To See on Your Flight To L.A.

As some of you already know, I took a short trip across the pond to L.A. with Air New Zealand a few weeks ago – and I have so much to share with you all. It was my first long haul flight, and my first trip to the US, so naturally I was itching to get there. Even after the cabin crew switched off all the lights, I couldn’t help but sneak my window cover open and inch or two, just to get a sight of what lay below.

After the initial shock of peering through the tiny slit to see the brightest cobalt sky and pure white ice of Greenland, I was hooked. Constantly making excuses to go to the toilet to gaze at the majesty thousands of feet below became my thing. As the flight progressed, the views only got better and better, seriously. Luckily, we flew during the sunset over the American landscape, and saw some beautiful colours and shadows meandering through the mountain ranges below.

Obviously the sights you see will be affected by time of day, cloud cover etc – so have a quite look at my flight details below to see if you can catch the sight of any of these amazing plane window views.

Flight Take Off: 3pm GMT

Flight Arrival: 8pm PDT

Sunset: approx. 6pm PDT

How do you like to make long haul flights fun?

Wow what beautiful scenery and great shots! I hated our flight to LA! We were sat in the middle isle so no window view there I'm afraid. Mind you flying over Greenland, we were all strapped in so not sure I would have thought about taking any pictures! We had such bad turbulence even the flight attendants had to go back to their seats. I'm a nervous flyer, so it's safe to say I was panicking and crying and just not enjoying it at all haha!Love Hannah
