Transforming A Room On A Budget With Matalan Home

* Products in this post were kindly gifted by Matalan*

There’s nothing I love more than a homeware haul, and when everything is a bargain… well, isn’t that just the best? As much as I love trawling through Pinterest liking everything high end, it’s just not attainable for me right now and isn’t for a lot of us out there! I’m a big advocate for shopping affordably if you can create the same look on the high street. I often find myself scrolling through the New In Section in Matalan Home, especially after my successful home transformation with their products last winter. So here are my top picks for transforming your room on a budget with new bits n’ bobs from Matalan home, enjoy!

Macramé Dream Catcher – £8.00

All of my macrame hangings are from Matalan because they’re such good value for money. Ahem, how cute is his dreamcatcher?! The other hanging is from last season at Matalan Home and it’s fab to see them following the trend through the seasons as I bloody love anything macrame. It’s a super easy way to give your home the lived-in, nomadic vibe without splashing the cash on more pricey items. They’re also fab for those of you who might be, like me, a little indecisive as they’re super easy to move around and hang wherever takes ya fancy really. I like hanging mine off my frames to add a bit more of a hap-hazard feel to the hangings.

Hanging Plant – £10.00

Metallic Ceramic Planter – £5.00

Hanging Macramé Succulent Plant (Large) – £14.00

Hanging Macramé Succulent Plant (Small) – £10.00

If you follow me on the ‘gram you’ll know that I’ve had an absolute mare with my real home plants and I’ve turned to trusty artificial to add flair to my home. Even though I absolutely love looking after my real plants, some things you just can’t control, and after a bad bout of spider mites knocking out half of my houseplants…. I needed a break from horticulture. These no-fuss artificial hangers are purrrfect for just that, all the impact and no fuss whatsoever. I’m still deciding on where I want to hang them, so I’ve cleverly dotted them about the place for some ad-hoc detail.

Glass Display Tray – £16.00

100% Cotton Seersucker Duvet Cover – From £35.00

Leaves in Ribbed Ceramic Pot – £14.00

When it comes to finishing touches, it’s always the little things that make the biggest impact. Textured bedsheets, accents of gold… and more plants (obvz) are my go-to for that “completed” look. My boyfriend still isn’t a big fan of the seersucker bedsheets ~ and totally asked if he needed to iron them ~ but I always take boyfriend-reluctance as a sign that I’m probably band on trend. PS. A little gold tray for morning coffee or makeup is always a bargain buy, and this one is purrrrfect imo due to the geometric design and a touch of luxury from the glass.

One more plant, promise! I’ve been wanting a Calathea plant for ages now (they’re bang on trend) but I’m just not over Spider Mite Tragedy 2018 yet, so this is the perfect option for me. You can bend the leaves and orientate them which ever way you like which is fab, but the detailing is really eye catching and different to any other artificial plant I’ve found yet!

I think Matalan is literally one of the most underrated places EVER. I got all of my stuff when I moved into my flat from there and I absolutely love it, it's so affordable and the quality is amazing too, their bedsheets are so good too! I love that glass dish, I seriously wish we had a bigger one in London!
