If you visit any high street shop right now, there’s one item that you’ll be seeing more and more of. The culotte is back for SS16 and no one is happier about this than me. They are the ultimate piece in comfy legwear, plus they can make any outfit look a little bit more high fashion. These culottes from Nobody’s Child definitely fit the brief – plain black for optimum wear, and they feature an elegant tailored look at the waist.
As you know, I love a good bardot neckline – and this jumper is perfect for that Winter to Spring transition. A flash of shoulder is perfect to balance the loose fitting bottoms, and the salt & pepper style grey colour satisfies my monochrome obsession. To pull this outfit together, I’ve teamed the wide leg trousers with an Obi Belt to give that oriental edge. Plus, it’s definitely worth emphasising tiny waists with these trousers!
As accessories go, the matching crystal pieces from Kaytie Wu work perfectly for some added glitz and glam, whilst keeping the look modern, and sophisticated. This also adds some metallic texture to the look, and works so well with the grey tones.
To finish off the look – patent black lace up flats add even more texture, whilst a simple roll clutch adds understated detail.
How would you style your Spring Culottes?
Check out the awesome photography by Ben Blyth, he’s a wizard behind a camera – and these shots have some serious edge to them. He also resides in Cardiff, so if any Cardiff-based bloggers out there need a photographer for a shoot – Ben’s your guy.
