This is bound to be a really succinct post as I’m so picky with skin/bodycare that I rarely ever stray from my usual bits and bobs. I’ve mentioned the same face products in a load of 2017 posts, so I’m no going to make note of my fave scrubs, masks, and washes as you can defo find them mentioned (more than one for sure) in my other skincare posts.
On the other hand, in the later end of 2017 I’ve 100% found some brand new skincare-loves that I couldn’t be more obsessed with. From A* formulas, to “make ya swoon” scents, these products have it all.
I bought this with a gift card that was waaay to close to expiring, so tbh it was an emergency purchase. I defo wanted to try out something from the Vit. C range from The Body Shop as I just had the feeling that it would brighten and awaken my dull autumn/winter skin. Guess what? It totally does the trick. This lil spritz is perfect for using in the morning as a pick-me-up for your skin, perfect to spray on generously and allow to soak in whilst you down that all important morning cuppa before work/uni/school.
Oh gaaaawd, where do I begin with this one… Just to set the scene, I am majorly fussy with any kind of cream whether it’s for the face, hands, or body – I’m proper picky like. I fell head-over-heels when I smelt this bad boy (litro smells like a PSL) and it feels even better on the skin. I’ve officially been converted to a body butter gal, thanks to The Body Shop!
Again, super fuss pot holz when it comes to hand cream but this year I became so obsessed with the formulas from The Body Shop & L’Occitane – these sink in really well and don’t leave you with that slippy, greasy hand feeling! The scents are also so moreish and yummy, I just want to reapply these all day…. and I do. These permanently sit next to my laptop for a moment of pampering for hard-working hands.
I was delighted to visit Face Gym in London’s Selfridges’ this year, where I got to design my own face serum! From the overall scent, to the ailments it focuses on, this serum is totally made for my skin and it has fast become one of my skincare staples.
I’ve never had a holy grail serum before, but this is 100% it. I do feel quite lost when I’m travelling and don’t have this with me (out of fear it will smash or I’ll lose it) or if I forget to put it on before bed… I can totally tell the difference in my skin the next morning. So, so pricey but so, so worth it.
This is one of those purchases that I will rebuy foreverrrr. I’m an oily gal (combo in winter) and I always have an issue with building up mattifying moisturisers, mattifying primers, and then applying my foundation. If I create a super matte base, I find that my foundation skips, applies really patchy, and just sits on the top of my skin. This is where the Beauty Elixir comes in.
Instead of wetting my blending sponge, I spritz this all over my face and my sponge to create a really lightweight oil layer that smooths and buffs my foundation in effortlessly, and creates a barrier on the sponge that prevents product soaking in too much. The effect is a wonderfully flawless base which can still be set down to a matte finish, or left on the dewy, luminous side if you’re dry.
This duo is a blemish-prone skin gal/guys’ dream. The Ordinary salicylic acid applies with a handy dropper tool which allows you to choose to apply the formula on particular areas where you have problematic skin / breakouts or to dot all around the face and rub in (which I do). Following this up with the Moisturising Factors cream is just the right amount of moisture to revive the skin, without increasing oil production to aggravate breakouts. Would 110% recommend to blemish-prone combo/oily skin purely based on the price of these products – They’re my new go-to in skincare for sure!
