Pointless Little Things That I Want

The devastating truth is that I am a 3rd year with accumulating student debt. So these days I tend to rein myself in when shopping, because I do want everything. Not everything-everything, but if something’s pretty then I’m straight over there like a magpie. Here’s a list of a few things that I’ve lusted over recently, yet simply don’t have enough logical reasons to buy.

 M&S Stag Vase (£25.00/each)

How gorgeous is this decorative vase?!
…And that’s precisely why it’s pointless.
As a student I rarely can afford to buy myself a decent meal, let alone a decorative vase. I’m a sucker for anything minimalistic with a deer/stag theme, and this definitely ticks those boxes. I would usually think about buying something.

TEJN White Faux Sheepskin Rug (£10.00/each)

TEJN Faux sheepskin IKEA The faux sheepskin is super soft, warm and cosy. Ideal as a rug or draped across your favourite armchair.

I bought one of these during a standard first Term Ikea trip during my second & third years at uni, because it is just that gorgeous. It is a cheaper version of the more luxurious real sheepskin rug, but this doesn’t bother me because I would even think of buying anything made of real fur. For some reason, the material just collects dirt and dust so easily. Each time I bought it, it was ruined within a few months and even after thorough washes, it just never got back to its original state. I really wish that I could rebuy this, but I might have to settle for a darker colour like grey.

Urban Outfitters Pyropet Kisa Candle in Grey (£30.00/each)

This misleading little candle looks all cute (with a load of geometric lines to give that essential touch of edge) yet as the candle burns, the cats skeleton is slowly exposed from within! This is so up my street, it’s unreal. However, I can imagine it causing a right mess on a candle holder. Oh and I would want to save it for a special occasion, which really would never arrive and I would end up not wanting to light it. It’s a nice idea, but £30.00 is a lot to pay in my opinion.

Zara Lynx Printed Leather Tidy Tray (£29.99/each)

I don’t really have any other reasons to buy this other than the fact that it’s in leopard print, and is a square. It’s just such an unusual homeware item, how could you not fall for it? At almost 30 a pop, I couldn’t possibly justify buying this to look at (maybe put my keys in or something).

Urban Outfitters Cat Mirror (£20.00/each)

I don’t even need to explain this one, LOOK AT IT! However, I have so many mirrors and vanities that this in’t a spend that I could justify.

Urban Outfitters ‘Most Days I Wish I Was A Cat’ Mug (£9.00/each)

This accurately describes how I feel, 100% of the time. I suppose this is not exactly pointless, but I already have two mugs that work real guuud at being mugs.

H&M Metal Antler Candle Holder in Silver (£12.99/each)

Isn’t this just gorgeous? Again in-fitting with the stag/dear theme, this silver antler style base offers a unique contemporary version a mundane object. Although this is just stunning, I never buy candles sold on their own (without a jar) so it would be really sad to see this lying around without being used at all. Then again at £12.99, would it really be that much of a waste hmm…

What pretty things are you lusting over recently?
