Last week, I was given the amazing opportunity to join some other South Wales based bloggers at the Dior Cardiff bloggers event. Obviously when I first saw the opportunity, I was over the moon with excitement, as I hadn’t yet had the privilege of attending a blogging event – so this would be my first, eek! The only Dior product I own is a lipgloss that I have held onto for years now, so I couldn’t wait to have a peek at their brand new products.
After confirming my attendance with the lovely organiser, Anthony, I just had to get on my social channels to find out who else was attending. Although I was thrilled about the event, I’m generally quite an anxious person – so it was paramount that I established a few familiar faces who would also be attending the event. Surprisingly my notifications were flooded with S. Wales bloggers saying they couldn’t wait to meet everyone at the event – queue even more nervous-ness! Luckily myself and the gorgeous Paige, from Paige Helen blog, has planned to go to our first bloggers event together months ago – so we met up before hand to have a little pre-event chat.
As 5pm rolled in, more and more bloggers began to arrive, so me and Paige creeped over to say hello to everyone. I am using the term “creep” accurately because we were trying to spot fellow bloggers from quite far away. True to what I expected, everyone was so welcoming and lovely – and it felt great to finally meet some like-minded people to talk about blogging with! There was such a great range of bloggers, from beauty, to fashion, to lifestyle – and it was great to hear a bit more about each blogger personally.
After a little chat with the other bloggers, the Dior representative Anthony came over to welcome us all to the event and he gave us probably the most stunning event wristband that I’ve ever seen. I don’t know why I was surprised at this, I mean it’s Dior right? Plus, I’m not sure which perfume it was scented with, but it smelt heavenly.
We then went on to have a glass of Champagne (or water for those not drinking) and got straight into learning about the new Dior Forever and Spring Glowing Gardens collections. Anthony, who I might add – gave me ridiculous brow envy, began to apply all of the different products. Anthony worked his magic on the beautiful model, and seriously got me wishing that I had him to make me look flawless every morning – cry.
Unfortunately for me, I fell in love with the item that was completely out of stock – the highlighters. Even though Anthony mentioned that the highlighters weren’t in stock, I obviously had to still go over and swatch the sample. Big mistake – I think my heart did actually shatter a little bit when I heard that it wont be coming back. Gutted, I know right? My bank balance is probably really happy about this though, so maybe it’s a sign…
The new Forever Foundation definitely sounded like my dream foundation – matte texture, pore refining, with SPF, and staying power – 16 hours of it apparently – just take my money, Dior. Sadly, my student loan doesn’t cater for multiple high end foundations. So I didn’t even try it on my skin, as I know that when it comes to make up I am a weak willed person and would probably have ended up buying it. Luckily, I didn’t leave empty handed as Anthony had prepared the most elegant little Dior goodie boxes – filled with little perfume and skincare samples.
I want to say a massive thank you to Anthony, and the rest of the team at Dior Cardiff, for being so kind and welcoming! I learnt a lot from this experience, and now I just can’t wait to go to the next Dior event!
