Happy almost July everyone! Hasn’t this month just flown by?! It might be partly because I was on hols, and time does fly when you’re exploring the world – but omg I can’t believe that it’s July ’17 already. This month’s faves are a mixture of home comforts and travelling essentials, as I’ve come across a lot of nifty finds this month, enjoy!
I bought this at TK Maxx on a whim for 15 squids and I’ve never looked back. This palette is the purrrfect size for travel as it’s so smol & cute (oh and leopard print err’thing). The shade “Tigers Eye” is such a pop of brown eyes, & Kitty Glitter is perfect for a cool-toned alt inner eye brightener. The creamy shades are all similar, with “Meow” being my all-over setting shade & “Purr” as a brow bone highlight. The only thing that’s missing are the crease shades, but I’ve got so many matte palettes that it doesn’t pose an issue for me. The formula also gets an A* from me, I just need to experiment with the row of wet/dry use shadows now!
I’ve been looking for a really good quality, inexpensive facial cleansing brush to recommend to you guys for a while now, as I know a lot of them are pricey and way out of many a gal’s budget. However, you can purchase this one for about £5 and you wont be disappointed if you’re looking for a gr8 skin clear out which isn’t too harsh, plus you can really control the movement of the brush and where you’re brushin’.
This isn’t at all a travel fave, but I have completely fallen in love with this dull hair saving mask this month. The Biolage range was gifted to me, but this product stood out to me the most. The texture is really weird, it feels like clay face mask and I always feel slightly odd rubbing through the ends of m’locks after shampooing & conditioning & the smell reminds me of art class…
As it doesn’t contain nasties like silicon, my hair always feels unusually dry after using but once my hair has air dried, it feels fabulously nourished and way more shiny. It’s just worth noting that products that don’t contain silicon don’t deposit that silky, slippery stuff on the outside the hair, and therefore your hair will feel a little more rough than usual – but that’s totally natural. A bit pricey as hair products go, but if you’re really looking to invest in good, natural haircare this is 100% worth it.
Guyyyyys I freakin’ lived off this stuff when I was away in Cyprus, no joke. I literally applied my Ultrasun Face*, then applied this on top buffing in with a foundation brush and finally tapping down with my fingers. It’s also got SPF in, so I was totally doubling up on the sunscreen but it’s cool to be safe in the sun right? It just gave my skin the loveliest tint of colour, and as I tanned throughout the week it still looked awesome on the skin. Does it last all day? NO. But if you’re looking for a natural looking, affordable BB cream – this might be a great option for you.
Ummm, I caved and finally bought the limited edition shower gel – but it’s okay, because I nabbed it as £3.50 in TBS sale! Would I have bought it full price? Sure. But a sale price makes it smell even better. NOTE – I actually hate drinking Pina Colada cocktails, but the blend of coconuts and pineapples makes for a mean shower gel scent. I can’t stop using this, and I’ll probably head to their website to stock up when I finish writing this post…
I’ve been an avid fan of the O.G. hot cloth cleanser for about 2/3 years now, so when Liz Earle offered to send me over their new scented version, I was obviously bloody excited to say the least. IMO, the formula is pretty much the same – which I’m a massive fan of. If it’s not broke don’t fix it, ya feel? The scent is so pretty yet isn’t too overpowering – however, it has irritated my sensitive skin on occasions so I swap back to the regular formula when any skin issues occur. All in all, the fragrance is a gr8 little addition to an already amazing product.
If you’re looking for a glow that’s going to make your bronzer/tan *pop*, invest £5 in this highlighter. I know you can get Elf in Superdrug stores in the UK now, but I bought this from the Elf online store because they offered a 50% off everything discount code & I couldn’t say no to that now could I? It’s domed, just like you would expect from a baked formula, however it’s smooth & is beautifully shimmery. The shade is gorgeous on top of a tan (real or fake) and shines a little warm peachiness on yo’ cheekbones.
Neom popped some travel goodies in the post for me to take on hols to Cyprus, and this is actually one that I didn’t take away with me! I never really have baths on warmer holidays as I find that my skin can get tender even after applying factor 50 sunscreen (damn 1/4 irish genes) so I avoid any hot water. However, I’ve been all over this product since I’ve got back and had to soak my joints after a lot of walking over on Cape Greco. For anyone that doesn’t know, I have a joint disability! It’s definitely manageable, but a lot of physical exercise really does take it out of me. This formula really does have a scent to de-stress and I’ve been enjoying the biggest, bubbliest baths. Thank you, Neom!
Superdrug Deodorant Foot Spray
Not even over exaggerating but I think I dodged many a blister using this deo-spray during my holiday in Cyprus. I always seem to get really bad rubbing and blisters over the summer, and as gross as it sounds, it’s down to sweaty feet (it’s totally normal). This spray acts as both a sweat-preventer and a refresher for the feet and smells ah-mazing to boot. I can’t seem to find it on their online website, but I picked it up in store about 2 weeks ago.
Woaaaah boiii, this stuff is pricey but I can’t help that I’ve completely fallen for this beaut of a powder. Rodial actually sent me over a big pr package, and this is my favourite makeup product of theirs by far. The shade “3” is cool enough to sculpt yet warm enough as not to look too muddy or out of place – and it blends like a dream! If you’re a packaging addict like me, then you might just fall for this silver & black weighted gem – it’s pricey but oh-so worth it.
After trying the LUSH variety, I became in-shower moisturiser convert. So naturally, I needed to pick this up after spotting it in Boots during a browse. The new Sanctuary packaging is #rosegoldgoals and has been marketed so well – nothing wrong with a product that looks beaut on display in the bathroom. The scent is faint but pretty and floral, whilst the formula provides just enough moisture without leaving you oily and slippery.
Bee Good sent me over their Lip Balm Trio*, and although I was swooning over the White Chocolate and Raspberry variety, this flavour stole the show. It’s zesty and moisturising, which makes it perfect for the summer months. This guy has 100% become my handbag favourite – thank you, Bee Good!
Soooo I shouldn’t really be popping this in here since I was only sent it two weeks ago to try, but gaaaawd if there was ever a perfect brow product for me – this it it. I love the brush, the formula, the shade – it just looks so natural. If you’re not into that “instagram brow” and just need a little filling in and a boost of colour, you need this in your life.
I won’t go into too much detail here, as I have mentioned this in previous faves posts – but this has been my ultimate go-to inner corner highlight on-the-go when travelling. It makes life so much easier, since you don’t need a small detail brush and a punchy shimmer powder – you literally dot, blend with a pinky and viola!
