Oops, I’m so sorry guys – another late faves post! This is a large one because I haven’t had time to do a July beauty faves post, but I’ve also been a bit late on posting this for August. I would say I’ll promise to get on it and make sure that the September post will be on time – but let’s be honest, it’ll go up when it goes up! I’ve been loving so many beauty and skincare products this month, with skincare being my main priority as I’ve had some seriously gross breakouts and my skin is not happy with the changing weather. Let’s get onto it, these are the products that I’ve been loving for the past two months!
Guys, I swear by this stuff for an oily gal’s all-day matte foundation. This stuff lasts allllll day, and I have no idea how it works because I’m usually an oily, greasy mess by about 7pm. It goes on smoothly, and gives a beautiful medium coverage matte finish which is also buildable. It’s also an absolute bargain so I’ve bought this foundation in both my tanned and pale shades (sun permitting) so I have a fool proof foundation for all occasions. If I’m heading to an event, or something where I need my makeup on and matte all day, this is what I’ll be using.
Even though this dries my lips out after a whole day of wear, it’s totally worth it imo because it’s bloody comfortable af and the shade is gorgeous. I’ve been meaning to pick up a few of these in more nude colours for some “throw in my bag” lippies that I know will look amazing and last all day. 100% would recommend trying one of these out if you haven’t already, and they wont break the bank!
I picked this up on a whim to make up my basket, you know? I popped it in there to get free shipping. I’m actually pleasantly surprised with this brow pencil, it’s the right texture to get some colour into sparse areas but it’s too soft which makes over-doing it really easy. It takes a bit of practice, mind, but once you’ve got it down – this brow pencil looks beaut on the brows.
This gloss has SO converted me it’s unreal… This is a short segment because I have a whole blog post about this gloss in the works – it’s just a beautiful formula, gorgeous colour – I can’t resist wearing this on top of all of my nude lipsticks. Amazing.
I got this in a Cohorted box, and fell in love instantly. I love to dip my fluffy highlight brush into the gold reflects (not the pink) and use it as a poppin’ highlight. This highlighter really doesn’t emphasis texture or make the skin look crepe-y. It’s a beautiful sheen, and I’m digging it.
I bought this on a whim about a month ago, and I’ve been using it religiously on the first day after every hair wash. Sounds odd, I know, but I have a safe routine going on here! When my hair is air dry after a wash, it’s pretty much a frizz ball. So I simply grab my bottle of this stuff use 20p sized amount and smooth it in a downwards motion through the lengths and ends of my hair. Bye to frizz and flyaways! The one thing I really don’t like is the smell. Weirdly enough, this smells like the foamy-type sweets taste? IDK it’s weird and it smells a bit artificial – but that’s my only gripe!
Out of all the exfoliating cleansers I’ve tried recently, this is the best. Honestly, I was well impressed after one use and I’m still blown away every time I use it. Because it’s a microdermabrasion product, you can really only use it twice a week at most, less if you have sensitive skin. However, if you have a serious issue with clogged pores and skin texture this will sort you right out.
I’d never heard of this brand before they sent me over a few bits, and this is by far the best out of the bunch – I’m officially obsessed. Holy grail status? Absolutely.
Okay, you got me – I’ve only used this about 5 times but it deserves an honourable mention in this post. I was kindly gifted this at a meeting I had during my trip to LDN and the words “Shower Oil” completely scared me off. I’m the type of person that will avoid oily products as much as possible, probably due to the fact that I have naturally oily skin.
The word “Sakura” had me intrigued though, as it’s the Japanese word for Cherry Blossom – yum! This running shower product turns into a very light lather when mixed with water and glides across the skin, cleansing and hydrating as it goes. I recently tried the Hammam scented shower foam, and the scent just isn’t for me – but the Sakura range smells insane!
This stuff is so weird… I don’t see a reason why it’s become a staple in my skincare routine but it just has? It’s so easy to use, smells fab, and makes my skin feel soft and refreshed. I pop this on as a serum/toner spray after cleansing and before I put on my night time face mask, which leaves my skin feeling peachy and plump.
I’ve been using this in combination with my Magnitone Cleansing Brush, and they’re like the perfect duo. I just pump out two puffs of yummy-smelling foam onto the brush and get buzzing. You can also use this with you hands, it’s just as great. It’s perfect for drying out oily skin, without leaving you with “squeaky skin” that is in desperate need of moisturising.
Guys, I’ve been seriously digging bath oil lately. I’ve replaced bubble bath or bath bombs, with bath oil – and I’m feeling so much better for it. The scents really alleviate tension in my mind, whilst the oils nourish my skin as I chillax. This one from Aromatherapy Associates smells amazing, and really does revive and uplift me during a morning bathe.
I was kindly gifted this during a meeting with a PR company in London, and although I’ve never used a roller ball parfum before, this is my new handbag fave. I’ve left this in the bottom of my go-to bag and I always have that “eureka!” moment when I realise it’s in there after a long day of travelling etc and I need a fragrance boost. This scent is divine, but I can’t wait to try more from Bromley!
What have you been loving recently?
