Okay, so it’s been a while since I posted the “getting right on over to H&M to get some beauty products” type-thing, however I finally got my student loan in and I decided to treat myself to the goodies that I’ve been eyeing up for months now.
Apparently making a long list online and chickening out in the shops has become a thing for me now. I just can’t bear to part with money if I’m not completely sure that I want something. So I stuck to a budget and picked out the four things that I was most certainly not leaving H&M without. Unfortunately, I was never going to buy any face/lip items from the collection as I am so fussy and I just didn’t think that they would be a great fit for me at all. But with the substantial amount of eye products, I was not disappointed.
Firstly I needed to get an High Impact Colour Eyeshadow, after hearing KathleenLights rant and rave about them on her channel a few months ago, I knew that I needed them in my life. Kat most certainly wasn’t wrong about the texture, I cautiously swatched about 10 in the shop as I find that texture varies significantly in different colours when you use cheaper eyeshadow products. Yet, must to my amazement, they were all buttery and intense.
My colour choice was definitely out of my comfort zone, but I felt weirdly drawn to this colour – so we’re just going to run with it guys. The shade Molten Mauve really stood out to me amongst the mishmash of swatches on my arm, and I thought that it would add something different to my eyeshadow collection. The deep plummy shimmer tone is a perfect blend of browns and purples and has that grungy look about it too.
Next, I went over to have a peak at the other types of eye products that H&M had on offer. I’m a fool for liquid liner, and when they’re also metallic – I’m in love. So when I found the Aqua Liquid Liner section, I was in heaven. I picked out one familiar colour, Bewitched, which is a grey/silver with cool metallic shimmer. Then, surprisingly again, a colour out of my comfort zone, Jungle Cruise, which has a dark grey base colour and green shimmer – so it comes out as a sort of deep khaki. I swatched a few and then walked away to do a bit more browsin’ before the inevitable rub test. I gave my hand a quick rub, and seriously, nothing budged. The liner dries like a gel and almost feels like a film, if that makes sense? If this applies as well on the lids then I will definitely be back for more.
Last but not least was the item that caused me to rethink my usual eye-colour palette. The Eye-Colour-To-Go in Plummy Tones is an eyeshadow stick for use on the go, as suggested. I picked out this colour again to try and add some oomph to my almost monotonous eyeshadow collection – I’m such a bad blogger. I’ve always heard that purple-tones are a blessing for brown eyes but never believed it, however one swatch of this and it was in my basket within 0.5 seconds.
Seriously can’t start trying out these products now, and hopefully I will be able to feature them in a Favourites post sometime soon. If you would like a full review of any of the products mentioned, leave a comment on @ me on Twitter.
Have you tried anything from H&M Beauty yet? What shall I try next?
