Foreo Issa Play Review

You know that feeling when you find something that you simply can’t live without, but never knew you needed? Well for me, this is it. The Foreo Issa Play* is a silicon, sonic-powered toothbrush that has totally changed up my oral hygiene game forever.

I’ve always enjoyed an electric toothbrush – that ultra clean, dentist feeling is real. I was converted  about a year ago when I invested in my first ever electric toothbrush that really changed my mind surrounding the “hype” of an electric toothbrush. The only issue that I found with generic swivel-head toothbrushes is the pressure and abrasive nature of some of these brushes on my gums. In my Corsodyl collaboration a month ago, I opened up about my weak gums struggle and it’s something that I do have to consider when purchasing any dental hygiene product.

The Foreo Issa Play* is wonderfully soft on the gums, oh my goodness. It’s such a gentle, yet effective massager & cleaner which makes it a dream for those suffering some sensitive teeth and gums. The small bristles oscillate sonically, providing just enough movement to get a deep clean whilst still giving you that gentle feeling.

I always get worried that my other electric toothbrushes are collecting bacteria because of how harsh and fast they rotate, etc, but the Foreo Issa Play* is actually coated with an antibacterial silicon, allowing you to get your 800 uses with one set of batteries with a clean brush! The white bristles you can see in the centre of the silicon pink are made from PBT polymer, which have more superior hygienic properties when compared to the usual nylon bristles used in most toothbrushes.

If you were wondering, I have my Issa Play in the colourway Pearl Pink to match my Foreo Luna  Mini face cleanser, and it’s the prettiest pale pink. Despite what I initially thought I’d have to work at, I didn’t even need to make an effort photographing this toothbrush. If you are that into aesthetics, like me, this toothbrush looks beaut by your sink…

The one thing that I can be a little critical about this brush, is that the head just isn’t skinny enough to get all the way back to your wisdom teeth area completely. Fortunately, my wisdom teeth have only just poked through and probably won’t come through any more, so this isn’t an issue for me. But if you do need to have a good polish out back, I would consider this aspect of the Foreo Issa Play.

Overall, I absolutely love my Foreo Issa Play*! I don’t think there’s any going back to a manual toothbrush or otherwise, because this clean is just so much better. Plus, my gums are definitely thanking me for the much gentler brush. Thank you for creating a beautiful brush that really works, Foreo!
