Yuuuup, before you say it – I know. I have been so sloppy with blog post consistency recently, so much so that I even forgot to do a February beauty faves post. To make it up to you lovely folk, this post is jam packed (I really mean it, scroll down for 20 amaze-balls products) with fab things that I have been love-love-loving over the past month or two.
Guys, I officially lost my Micellar water virginity. Yep, it took me this long to try it out, and I’m head over heels for this Balance Me version. The cap flips up and you just need to push down on the top to distribute some product into a cotton pad, and then wipe it all over your face. My skin has been feeling so much more comfortable after I switched from wipes to this water, and I have had significantly less break outs. I really need to emphasise that because I have barely had any spots in the last month, and I believe it’s down to this product alone. Magic.
I’ve been looking for this mixer in store for bloody ages, so I was so happy to finally see it in stock in my local Boots store. I bought the Milani Conceal and Perfect foundation months ago, and the shade oxidised so badly on my skin. I mean, it was at least whole shade too dark once it dried down after application.
Mixing my Milani foundation with double the amount of this foundation mixer seemed to do the trick, and the formula was no way near as opaque as I thought it would be. The lightness can defo be built up slowly so you never go overboard and waste foundation. It’s worth noting that I don’t think it affected the full coverage-ness of the foundation, nor the longevity of the original formula!
Ahhhh okay guys, you will not believe how happy I am to be on Amie’s PR list. NOTE – I did recieve this item as a gift but that doesn’t sway my opinion, as usual. I absolutely love love love Amie’s Matte Moisturiser, which I’ve been using for years as the formula is perfect for oily skin. Sooo I was pretty curious to see how this exfoliating wash would affect my skin.
As it happens, I absolutely love exfoliating products as I have big pores that often get clogged up with all sorts of impurities during the day, plus this one features a natural exfoliant – winner! Plus, it smells exactly like cantaloupe melon. My skin feels so much fresher and brighter, my friends have even commented on how soft my skin looks. 10/10 would recommend!
Even though I’m working on an extensive dry shampoo comparison post, I just thought I’d mention this product as one of my faves simply because I used it pretty much everyday for a month, purely because it smells amaaaazing. It’s also pretty good at the whole dry shampoo thing, and I although I don’t think it’s as “invisible” as it claims on the packaging, it doesn’t have early as bad of a white cast as other dry shampoos.
A lot of people don’t know this but I suffer from insomnia caused by anxiety, so for me, getting to sleep can be probably the most stressful part of my day. I have been a massive fan of this for years now, just FYI, since I did get sent a bottle of this. It transports me back to my childhood, when my aunty used to run me baths filled with lavender oil before nap time. I was so skeptical about this working, but it really does. This works, promise.
I bought this ageeees ago at a Too Faced blogging event, when it first came out in stores. I was obsessed for a while and then it, sadly, took a backstep and was neglected at the back of my makeup drawer. Recently I’ve been suffering from really dry under eyes (which is super strange for oil-slick holz) and this has totally done the trick. It’s beautiful on the skin, moisturising, and smells god darn amazing. I’m so sorry Born This Way Concealer, love u really xox.
THIS IS MY NEW ABSOLUTE HOLY GRAIL HAIR PRODUCT, GUYS. I’m not even being overboard here, it’s amazing. I have used this solidly every other day for 2 months and I’ve still not finished all of the product inside one bottle. I have been practicing the art (lol I’m lazy) of washing my hair less, to prevent the stripping of good oils that help repair your damaged locks. However, the ends of my hair just get awfully dry, and simply unmanageable.
Got2b to the rescue – a few spritz here and there and this dry oil livens up the colour and texture of my hair, and makes it look so much more alive. Plus, the mist is a real misty mist (if you know, you know) and doesn’t smell like a gross hairspray either!
Before you read on, let me warn you: this daily moisturiser costs almost £100. It smells pretty much like sweet ginger to me but it’s not too overwhelming, as some more pricey moisturisers can be. It also agrees with my oily skin too (yaaaay) which isn’t common with rich moisturisers, and makes my skin look ridiculously radiant. Plus, it also sits real pretty underneath all of my primers n’ foundations which means it gets an A* from me.
Hell yeah that’s a lotta dough, and I would not purchase it myself on my student budget. However, if you do have the money to, it’s a fantastic high end option to indulge yourself with – grab it at Sulis and Thermae*
