February Beauty Favourites

 Hello everyone!

I have most definitely been ghosting for way too long now, and this post is very much overdue – oops! So I will definitely be stepping up my blogging game within the next few weeks as I have my dissertation due soon – and I really need this creative outlet to keep me sane.

Watch this space for plenty of beauty, fashion, and lifestyle – especially blogging tips and travel posts on my new “The Travel Kitty” series.

But first, here are the products that I was most-def loving last February, enjoy!

EOS Smooth Sphere Summer Fruit Lip Balm (£5.95/7g)

I really didn’t understand the mad hype around this product before I had one… and now I do have one, I feel the same. I don’t really see why this product has become this cult star – other than the fact that they smell ah-mazing. This one smells exactly like the drink Oasis Summer Fruits – and I love it. The packaging is also a lovely touch, as I hate getting products on my hands. My madre actually gave this to me, so I’m not too sure if I would repurchase it for the price as I do love my old friend, Vaseline.

MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour in Oh, Lady (£21.00/each)

I waited god know how long for this baby to come back into stock in my local MAC shop after the initial launch – and now that I have it, I can see why it was so sought after. This liquid lippy is such a unique colour – not exactly a plum, not a purple, and not a vampy red. It’s somewhere in between, and this place is magical.

However, this is the one and only reason that I love this product. The formula is nothing special, and is patchy within one hour – plus the application is really messy, and I’m not sure why. I have only worn this on occasions where I’m not eating and I always need to use a lip liner – bummer!

Makeup Geek Contour Pan in Infidelity (£7.95/each)

So Makeup Geek released their Contour Pans on Beauty Bay, and I just had to snap one up asap. I already had an empty customised, magnetic palette from Crowd Colour – and now I finally had an excuse to fill it with something, wahey!

If you don’t know much about this release – there are 8 pans available, split into 4 different skin tones: Porcelain, Fair, Medium, and Deep. Even more impressively, there are two shades for each skin tone, warm and cool versions for each. This means that pretty much everyones wants and needs are catered for, yaaaas. I have very yellow toned fair skin, so initially I was going for Bad Habit (the warm shade) – sadly, this sold out super-quickly and I was left with Infidelity or nada.

Firstly, the formula is brilliant. The pigmentation is so strong that only a few strokes of a brush are needed for defined cheekbones that last for hours. To my surprise, I bloody love this shade – and even more so, I love how cool toned it is. It really balances the olive tones in my skin, and I find that it gives a more “contoured” look whereas now I would be worried that the warmer tone may look too similar to a bronzer. Either way I’ll pick up Bad Habit when it’s back in stock for the summer months! Find your colour match here gals!

Morphe M330 Blending Crease Brush (£4.75/each)

This was a bit of a delve into the unknown, as I had never tried a Morphe brush before – despite hearing all the hype on YouTube and beyond. I am a bad, bad blogger. However, after having a go with this baby, I will 100% be purchasing more. This is by far the best crease brush I have, and for the fraction of the price of the majority of my eye-brushes. The quality is also insane for the price however I did have a tad bit of shedding, but I’m willing to overlook this. The natural brushes help to blend almost effortlessly, and the shape is perfectly tapered to keep you from moving product around too much. It’s a 10/10 for me, thank you Morphe!

Lee Stafford Coco Loco Coconut Mask* (£6.99/200ml)
Lee Stafford Coco Loco Coconut Spritz* (£5.99/150ml)

I decided to combine these products, as I rarely use one without the other. They both have the same scent, which is seriously to die for. Even my boyfriend notices when I have used these particular products on my hair – which is saying something. I generally have very dry, brittle ends (grey hair is such an effort) but these lil’ gems sort my ends right out. My hair feels fluffy and soft, with a lot of volume – which is quite strange for highly moisturizing products which can be quite weighty. Because my hair is so long and well, dead? I use the mask after every wash, but the majority of people could get away with using it a once-a-week moisture top up! The spray itself is like an on-the-go handy moisture boost, and I just give myself a wee spritz when my hair is feeling brittle or limp – voila!

I'm still gutted about the Mac liquid lipsticks, they had potential to be good! Especially with their lush shade range. I love my eos balm, I grabbed mine in NY so it was cheap, I need to stock up again. I'm desperate to try make up geek still! xxTamz | http://www.throughneweyesx.com

It's a real shame about the MAC liquid lip colour, some of the shades are lovely but I'm not sure I can justify the price, and I don't know if I will enjoy the formula which is always my biggest worry when I consider splashing out on a product. I'm so glad you like the Make-Up Geek Contour pan though, cos I've been thinking about picking one up for a while now – I've heard nothing but good things!Amanda Jayne | beauty, style, life
