Choosing The Perfect Chair For Your Space

So you guys know I’ve just moved into a new space right? If not, where have you been gurl? I moved into a lil, quaint one bed apartment close to London about a month ago now and I’ve been relishing every opportunity to make my place… mine. (Yes I do live with my partner, but I’m appointed interior decor manager ya feel?)

Just a bit of background – my place is a pretty modern, one bed, in an apartment block, and it’s furnished. Ahhhh furnished properties, so ridiculously handy finance-wise but it’s been the bane of my decor life. It’s really hard to customise your space when you already have “stuff” in there that you need to keep. But it’s really all about making those clever additions to your property to add your own sense of style and flair.

One way to jazz up any space and give it a new lease of life is to create a new homely corner, and at this time of the year, a cosy spot near the Christmas tree is ideal to place a brand new chair (with optional fluffy pillow) where you can lie back and enjoy a read, hot chocolate, or as simply a new place to perch and watch the telly.

Personally, I like to look both side of the coin – style and practicality.  Firstly, I needed a chair that could double up as a desk chair, but would also look beautiful casually placed about the house and proper comfy to relax in after a long day of working at a laptop.

Secondly, it had to fit in with the rest of my apartment. The aesthetic is currently very neutral, with lots of botanical vibes, and a scandi twist. I’m very big on palm prints, white tones, and metallic gold touches – so ideally I’d need a chair that will either be a statement piece, or something very complimentary and accents the space.

So this Cox & Cox Rattan & Teak Chair* was actually the first one to make me go “ooooh”. Let’s just say it was love at first sight! The wooden “eiffel tower” -esque legs are uber scandi style and really work with my existing marble table, which has the same leg style! But it was the woven rattan seat that really had me swooning, botanical perfection or what?!

When it arrived I knew it was the one, and I’ve been in love with it ever since. I think the trick is to really weigh up style and practicality, as there have been many a chair that I’ve been >>>> this <<<< close to purchasing, and now I know they wouldn’t have been right for me (even if they did look insanely beaut on Instagram) now that I have this stunning Rattan & Teak Chair* in my life.

Have you chosen a chair for your space yet?

What was important to you and what did you look for?

We see too many churches use the 60 second rear end test in making a decision on which church chairs they will be purchasing. But worship services do not last just 60
