Birchbox August 2017 | Unboxing & Review (SPOILERS!)

This month’s Birchbox* is Mermaid themed. Literally, mermaid perfection. I am obsessed with the box design, it’s kawaii af – and doesn’t a merbabe theme make life that little bit brighter? The August Box is all about embracing your mermaid beachyness with glowing skin, wavy hair, and shimmering eyelids.

What’s In The Box?

Spectrum Collections A05 Brush in Bomb Shell or Glam Clam*

Full Size – RRP £6.99

I already have this brush in the O.G. Spectrum colourway, and I adore it. Obviously, it’s fab to have a back up! I would have preferred to have recieve the Glam Clam pink colourway, but the Bomb Shell is beaut too. The bristles are super soft and this contour brush blends out like a bloody dream – amaaaazing job, Birchbox*!

LOC One & Done Shadow Stick in Out of Your Shell*

Full Size – RRP £8.00

Eeeek – I was so pleased to see the lighter of the two shades of this shadow stick in the box this month. I love using pearly white shadow sticks to brighten up my inner corner and add some shimmer to the cupids bow. Can’t wait to see how long this lasts on the eyes!

Number 4 Sugar Texturizing Spray*

Sample Size – Worth £4.14

I’m all for a good texturizing spray as my hair is quite long and thick, so it can often fall flat without me even noticing! This product is made using real sugar cane, and swears to keep your hair wavy, beachy, and textured without giving it “the crunch” – you know?

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Oil Shimmer*

Sample Size – Worth £4.00

I’ve already got about 5 samples sizes of this product, and the real thing, so this wasn’t very exciting for me to see in the box this month. However, it’s a really lovely oil and I religiously use this as a face and hair treatment – if you haven’t tried this yet, what a treat!

Huygens Supernature Cream*

Sample Size – Worth £3.33

This moisturising cream promises to keep your skin hydrated whilst battling skin imperfections by soothing redness and clearing away dead skin cells. I’m always up for trying new skincare so this is a bargain for me! Can’t wait to prime my face with this next week!

Overall Opinion

Total Cost: £10.00 (+£2.95 P&P)

Total Value: £26.46 (Approx)

The value of this month’s Birchbox* sort of doesn’t come close to the August Glossybox – sorry Birchbox*! I feel like recently I’ve been looking at the list of things that could be in the box, wishing I got other things on the list. For example, the Bumble & Bumble product, or perhaps the Cargo Blush. However, the whole box theme and the full size Spectrum Collections and LOC eyeshadow stick did win me over.
