Benefit Hoola Lite | Worth The Hype?

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock somewhere you’ll have probably heard about the much-hyped launch of Benefit’s brand new bronzer product – Benefit Hoola Lite*. It’s not very groundbreaking in terms of a “brand new” product but it’s nevertheless a product that many Benefit fans have been calling for, for what feels like forever. A light bronzer. Many pale gals that I know really struggle to find a good bronzer that they feel confident and comfortable in, because they’re not made with lighter skin tones in mind. So kudos to Benefit for creating a product that many people really needed to see in Benefits range.

The Hoola Lite* retails for the same price as the O.G. Hoola* at £24.50 for 8g of product and comes in the usual cardboard box and square brush style packaging. I’m not a massive fan of this packaging as it really goes get a bit messy and flimsy over time, but the brush is fab as always and I always take them out and use them to apply my contour with! I then go in with the actual box bronzer with a big fluffy bronzer brush.

I was pretty sure that I was not going to enjoy this product purely because the O.G. Hoola Bronzer* didn’t blow my socks off, but boy was I wrong. I was absolutely blown away with the formula, and I’m not even sure why I love it so much. The whole product itself just really wasn’t set to impressed, and then… I was pretty fucking impressed.

The shade is on the light side *duh* and I do need to build it up on my skin, however the effect is stunning and I always look beautifully sunkissed after using this. Oh, and I’m not a bronzer pro at all. In fact, I’ve only just started wearing it as of one year ago! There’s absolutely no worries for Fair-Light skin gals using this product and getting “muddy” or “tangerine” because the undertone is wonderfully sandy and the formula blends and melts into the cheeks dreamily.

Would I recommend the Benefit Hoola Lite? If you’re a pale, light-medium shade, with trouble finding flattering bronzers.. Definitely try this baby out. You might just unexpectedly fall in love, I certainly did.

Have you tried the Benefit Hoola Lite?

What did you think of the new product?

Sounds like a makeup must have. I've been debating whether or not to add it to my collection for a while – I love the original Hoola but it can at times look a little too dark & muddy so this lighter version may serve me better. I love you photography – it is always so pretty.

Seen this around the interwebs and wondering what all the fuss was about because Benefit just screams overpriced to me but it looks like it's worth the buy from your review, especially if you have fair skin like I do.Mel ★

I am SO obsessed with this bronzer, I bought their cheek parade palette, and the shades in it are so beautiful, but Hoola LITE, its one of my favourites, I use it everyday for that natural looking contour, without it being too heavy or muddy looking. So happy that this exists! Lovely review too.Emily // Emily Atelier

I'm actually a huge fan of the original hoola bronzer, so I was super interested what you had to say about this one, specially since I knew you didn't like the original. I'm so glad to hear that your really liked this product! I might actually invest in this color in the winter xxxMelina |
