I know I know, it’s another late one. I’m really slacking, right? Uni has inevitably taken over my life once again and I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place. Do I write that blog post that I’ve been dying to write all week, or should I be spending that hour or two doing extra research for my MEng projects? (Hint – I never pick the latter). So apologies if you have been waiting a while to see which products have been ticking my boxes for the last month, but this one is a good’un guys – Pinky promise.
Yup, it’s true – I’ve finally found that holy grail pink hair product. It’s actually inspired me to do an entire post on my fave products for healthy, bright hair so keep an eye out for that in the next week or two. This is a blessing for bright hair – it’s basically a colour top up product to help revitalise your hair colour. I can only assume that you should only use these if you already dye your hair in one of the colours that they stock this in, as it is more of a colour refresher than a dye. They do a range of 12 colour shades, and a White Mix to mix to create pastels!
You simply run it through washed, towel dried hair (with gloves on!!!) and leave it for 3-10 mins, depending on how bright your colour is, and let it do it’s thang. I used this when my regular pink dye had basically half washed out and the colour was very dull and bland. This lil guy 100% woke my hair up again and left a wonderful pop of pink in it.
It’s worth noting that this product is also 100% vegan – yaaas – and it also smells amazing. The scent is reminiscent of cherries and beetroot (seriously). IMO, this one is worth a look in for dyed dolls out there.
I was sent 3 of the brand new Boux Avenue Body Mist scents this month, as a Student Ambassador perk – & this one is definitely my favourite. There is just something sophisticated and sexy about it! With key notes of Black Rose, Orchid, and Musk, hopefully you can imagine how amazing this smells. It’s sultry enough to make you smell amazing, whilst floral enough for everyday wear. This is my new everyday scent, guys n’ gals!

This NYX wonder product claims to be a “Concealer, Eye Brightener, Reverse Lip Liner All-In-One” – however, I bought it mainly to just be an eye brightener for my teeny tiny eyes. I always find it hard to wear any type of dark pencil/kohl liner as they always smudge throughout the day and over time my eyes appear smaller, and smaller.
Obviously, with a skin-toned liner I’m in no fear of that happening, just a bit of an eye-widening look is what I was going for. I can confirm that this performs the task beautifully. It’s creamy enough to apply on the waterline without any dragging whatsoever, however if you do wear contacts it’s worth setting this with a little powder as this causes it to move around a little.
The cheapest I found it was on Feel Unique for only £4.00!
This was definitely an impulse buy, but with reason, so I’m at peace with the purchase. I’ve sort-of needed a new highlighting brush for bloody ages. I say sort-of because I’ve been using an old fan brush that’s been my trust go-to for almost half a year now, and it started looking a little sad.
So when I was having a browse on the Beauty Bay website, I spotted the M501 & took the plunge. I can see why it has amazing reviews as it’s picks up a generous amount of product and distributes it so softly, and evenly on the skin. For £6.25, you really can’t go wrong with this one.
I was sent a PR sample of this at the beginning of September, and I’ve honestly been loving this all month long. The idea of a normal jelly-like cleanser that transforms into a milky froth completely appeals to my scientific curiosity, and this product smells amazingly like apricots. It’s a win-win for me.
The brand is natural, organic, nut free, cruelty free, and contains absolutely no plastic microbeads which I’m giving a massive thumbs-up to. The microbeads in this product are made from natural wax, which is gentle on this skin! Every time I used this product my skin definitely looked brighter and more radiant. It is a teeny bit on the pricey side, but if you love a scrub but like a gentle cleanse, this is definitely a product for you.
This was a little something that I totally got excited about in my last Birchbox review, as I only own one foundation from LM and I’m forever hearing about how amazing her face products are (who isn’t??). The consistency of this is almost like a wet gel, which transforms into a weirdly moisturised matte finish. It doesn’t have that plastic-y silicon feeling (bloody fab) and just simply makes your skin smooth & soft.
I wasn’t expecting this to do much for that exact reason, but I did notice that my go-to Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum foundation started to last all day when I began using this, when usually it starts separating by my nose and lips by the end of the afternoon. I would suggest this one for oily-gals as I think it did help with all that oily production throughout the day.
Oh my god, guys. I cannot tell you how much I have fallen for this product. I’m so fussy with haircare products that sometimes it is a real hit or miss situation with me, but this guy ticks all the right boxes. After washing and conditioning my hair, I give it a tousle with a towel and a comb through with a wide-tooth comb before using two pumps of this. I start by smoothing it through my hair and then scrunch upwards to create more curl and bounce. My hair 100% dries more curly and there’s a lot less frizz. This product does have a very strong scent, but it’s not unpleasant. It literally smells like jelly babies/skittles *yummm*.
Yes, you heard it – charcoal bamboo face angel cloth? It’s a weird one, but stay with me. It’s a little angel shaped rigid body that converts into a soft gelatinous (but vegan) sponge-cloth. This product is gr8 for reducing oil production, gentle exfoliation, and is pH neutral so it won’t aggravate your natural skin chemistry.
If you’ve been keeping up with me on social media recently, you’ll know that I have been obsessed with masks recently. I’ve realised that using this lil cloth to remove masks is a godsend, guys. It’s gentle and soft, so it can move with the contours of your skin, and removes product kindly!
This was one of the sample products that I recieved in my goodie bag at the Too Faced event a month ago, and the lovely gal running it even gave me it on purpose as she insisted that no girl can go without this mascara. Being the pickiest person with mascaras (damn you, tiny lashes) I was kinda like, “yeaaaah, okay, we’ll see about that…”
ALERT – You do in fact need this mascara in your life. Oh my days, this is now my holy grail mascara. Yep, I’ve ordered the full size and I’m tempted to try out the waterproof version too. I am in love with this mascara, guys. It gives length, volume, and it is a true black colour – yaaas! The fact that you can layer this mascara is the icing on the cake for me as it really does transform my lashes. Note – Believe the hype, it’s real.
This was another product that I was lucky enough to recieve in a goodie bag and I’m in love with it. There’s not much to say here as so many people have vlogged and blogged about this product, but I love the shade and the formula. The semi-matte/velvet finish is beautiful, and the colour is perfect for everyday wear – I’ve been loving wearing this one to lectures for a little bit of muted colour on my lips.
There’s more NYX in this post than I’ve ever mentioned before, but hey, here’s another one of my must haves from NYX. I’m serious about this guys, you need to see this swatched. I’m writing this before I take the blog photos so I really hope I can manage to snap how stunning this shade really is.
I’m pretty surprised that these have low ratings on the Feel Unique website as I bloody love this shadow. I’ve been using it as an inner corner highlight, and even a face highlighter with a fan brush for a subtle prismatic glow. It’s no way near as pink as the pictures online pin it as, to me it’s more of a very light pastel pink pearl shade. It definitely works better with a little MAC Fix+, to get more bang for your buck.
I thought I’d end with this one as it is probably the most perfect lipstick that I own. The shade is a beautiful rosy pink with a sheer gold metallic pearlescent finish. The fact that this lippy is a Star Trek collab definitely swayed me to purchase as I am quite the Trekkie.
Note – this shade is now out of stock but there are 3 other beautiful shades if you want to get your hands on some MAC Star Trek lippies!
What have you been loving in Beauty in the past month?
