Now that I can pick up e.l.f. in my local Superdrug store, I feel like I’m coveting their products less and less. Not that they don’t have some amazing products on offer, I just find that the rarer or harder to get the product is… the more I want it. Sod’s law, ey?
Anyway, I’m subscribed to their mailing list and got an alert about a week ago when they had a whopping 50% off “everything” on their website. I’m putting “everything” in inverted commas, as it really wasn’t 50% off everything on their site at all. There were plenty of exclusions like the whole of one of their makeup brush lines, and anything in the New In section was out of bounds. I ended up picking up £60 worth of e.l.f. goodies for an amazing £30 with free postage and I’m over the moon about it none-the-less.
e.l.f. Lip Exfoliator in Sweet Cherry
After I saw KathleenLights review this a few months back, I’ve had it at the back of my mind. I was actually thinking to myself “gawd, my lips are well dry” and this came to mind. She actually rates the Original sugar flavour higher than this one as this one is definitely more artificial cherry scented and flavoured, but I kinda dig that. I love the fact that it comes in a lipstick-form so you don’t need to dig your fingers into a pot and scoop out the product like most scrubs. I think it’s quite moisturising too so I’m finding it to be fab to apply before applying matte lippies!
e.l.f. Matte Lip Colour in Praline
I’m so glad that I picked up the shade Praline as it’s the perf everyday nude with a twist. It’s slightly deeper than a regular nude and has a slight pink undertone, but isn’t a pink for sure. It’s 100% that “throw in yer purse” sort of shade that you could rock with any eye look, for a super low maintenance matte look on the lip. I love topping this with a nude gloss to add dimension!
e.l.f. Velvet Touch Eyeshadow Palette in Island Breeze
This is probably my fave item from the haul as I received so many compliments when I wore these shadows on my eyes earlier this week. The texture is really unique, quite like the Colourpop Super Shock… sort of a cream to powder that really packs a punch. Not a massive fan of the random green shade, but all of the others are beaaaautiful – the cranberry tone is definitely my fave to place all over my eyes and blend out with a soft brown.
e.l.f. Prism Eyeshadow Palette in Sunset
This palette is slightly underwhelming, as in person a few of the shades are borderline the same on the eye. However, the gold is a perfect punchy rich shade and the lightest shade on the LHS of the palette is a fab inner corner highlight. I need to play around with these a little bit more, but for the price, I really can’t complain.
e.l.f. Tapered Brushe.l.f. Small Tapered Brush
Everyone in the YT world of beauty guru vlogging goes on about e.l.f. brushes, and for good reason – These are very soft, and for the price, such good value! I was well impressed when I popped these out of the packaging, they felt super soft and I wouldn’t have guessed that they were so cheap if I was reviewing these in some form of blind test. They’ve replaced my previous fave face and highlighter brushes already!
Have you spotted anything from e.l.f. that you just need to get your hands on?
