Yep, I’m back again with another Monthly Faves post and I have so much to share with you. Not only in sheer volume (I had to halve the amount of products I wanted to feature in this post) but in variety too! I tried a lot of new products this month, and these have become my ultimate faves…
Okay guys, I’m going to let you in on a little secret… I’m currently prepping my hair for a new dramatic change! Obviously, I’m not going to be processing my hair in any way until it’s in tip-top condition – So I’m working on it!
OGX were kind enough to send me over their Vitamin E Shampoo* and Conditioner* to try, and after trying their amazing Coconut Milk variety, I really couldn’t wait to wash my locks. The formula promises to smooth damaged hair and fix split ends, and my hair feels so much healthier for it. Plus, it really does strengthen and revive the hair as mine no longer feels like it’s going to snap off all the time – get innnn!
As if this isn’t the 100th time I’ve featured this product on my blog, but I recieved a sample recently and fell right back into love with it. If you have the money to splurge on a gr8 haircare product, this is the one. Apply it before you shampoo your hair, and leave in for about 10 mins – Hair replenishment at it’s finest, ladies & gents!
Keeping in mind that I almost always skip the toner step in my skincare routine (naughty, naughty), have been using this everyday since I first got my hands on it. I got sent this little floral-scented gem as part of the Bloggers Hangout Must Haves in July and have been using it as a pre-primer every since.
I spritz this straight from the bottle onto cleansed skin before applying my primer, and it has really helped to keep my combo/oily skin under control. You can also skin the moisturiser step (which is bloody fab if you’re oily) as it aids hydration and cleanses skin with Witch Hazel. Oh and iit also dries slightly tacky, which means even more makeup staying power, yaaaas!
Juts thought that I’d quickly mention my current hair dye, as so many of you have been asking about it! Yep, it isn’t a popular hair dye that you can find in Superdrug or Boots! It’s from an amazing independant brand, and the hair dye really does last a long time compared to other dyes that I’ve tried. It’s semi permanent, so the majority of it will wash out eventually – however, it doesn’t contain any alcohol, peroxide or ammonia, which leaves my hair feeling soft and vibrant.
I was sent such a big goodie bag full of Glo & Ray products from Beauty Mark UK (Thank you so much, guys!) and after being slightly apprehensive about the shade choices I soon fell in love with this quad. Well… not the whole quad, but two shades that have totally made into my everyday makeup bag!
Unfortunately the palette doesn’t have shade names for each individual shadow, so “the two top ones” will have to do folks! The white shade had a frosted finish and is perfect dry as a brow bone highlight and wet as an inner corner definer, and the deep purple toned grey has been my go to for my outer V for warm makeup looks to smoke up the eye.
This is another bad body from Beauty Mark UK, and I am ridiculously glad that they sent this one over for me to have a fiddle with. If you don’t know this already, I am an absolute suckaaaa for peachy, coral shades for the cheeks as they really compliment my yellow undertones and leave the skin looking fresh. To my surprise, this shade is a beautiful pink and orange duo-chrome when applied intensely, so I’ve been using this in combo with Mac Fix + as a centre of the lid statement shade
Before you say anything, yes, this is a Creme finish. I usually h8 creme finishes on lipsticks (I’m a matte girl at heart) but for this lippy, I’m 100% willing to make an exception. Omg, I have become obsessed with this shade from the new Artist Rouge collection from Makeup Forever.
C108 is a pinky nude with peach undertones, so it makes for a perfect my-lips-but-better shade on light-mid skintones. I was expecting this lippy to become a hot pink on my highly-pigmented lips, but the colour is so opaque – meaning you get to see the true colour in the tube & on your lips. Btw, this lippy lasts all day for me!
Not into nudes? Precious About Makeup stock all 46 shades in the new collection!
Okay, I admit it, I did put off using this one for a little bit as I didn’t think I could pull off such an insanely bright colour. But boy was I wrong! Especially with my new pink do, this colour looks insane on the lips.
Want some sheer coverage with a dash of colour? Then you can use the stain end. Want a creamy metallic sheen lip? Then the lippy end is your best bet! However, if you want long-lasting hypnotic pink lips, using both will do the trick!
I do have another shade, Catwalk Queen*, that I haven’t got round to wearing yet – so expect a full blog post after I’ve put the second shade to the test!
You know them times when you go to a blogging event with the best intentions of not spending any money and then fail miserably? Yep, this was one of those purchases. But believe me, I have no regrets whatsoever. I’ve been using this everyday straight since I picked it up during the Newport bloggers event and I can safely say that it works with both a full coverage look, and a natural casual one too! I got colour matched to the Medium shade, however I really do like an illuminating and brightening concealer as I have very sallow, yellow undertones – especially under my eyes!
Just thought I’d give this balm a quick mention as it’s really helped to relieved my eczema prone lips! Yep, I get horrid little dry patches on lips and the formula of this lipstick has really helped to relieve that tight, dry feeling – hooray! It smells like yummy summer holidays and is also a factor 30 SPF.
After receiving a trial size of the coveted All Nighter, I’ve made the decision to make an investment on the fullsize (when student loan comes in, obvs). Not only will this be great for makeup that lasts all night long, but also all day long – 9am-5pm lectures aren’t fun yo’!
W7 sent me over these little Beauty Blender-esque sponges in a PR package a while ago, and I couldn’t get them to work with any of my face makeup – boooo. However, these work like an absolute star with my new concealer purchases, so it really is just down to finding a product that blends well with a sponge, right? The little tapered sponges are perfect for getting into small areas like on the sides of the nose and right under the eyes!
What have been your fave products this August?
