So some of you may have noticed a lack of a March Beauty Faves post, and for that I am terribly sorry! Due to my dissertation deadline, and my impromptu trip to Los Angeles – I really did run out of time to write a faves post – boo! But never fear, I’m back with a bit of a double whammy as this month’s post includes 10 products that I really could not get enough of this month. Some of these are golden oldies, and some are brand spankingly new – nethertheless I really can’t wait to share them with you guys!
An unbelievable amount of people have been ranting and raving about this product – so naturally, I had to grab one for myself and try it out. I won’t go into too much detail as I think a “Worth the Hype?” style post is due here. Although this didn’t hit all of my expectations, I have been grabbing it everyday – which does say something. If you would be particularly interested in a full review, pop a comment down below to give me a tweet!
I have mentioned this in other blog posts, but I thought that it deserves another mention as I have completely rediscovered this scent in the past month. It’s just perfect for those gals who love sweet, floral smells but crave a little bit of a musky edge – viola!
Okay, you got me. This was a complete impulse purchase that I made on the day that my loan came in. I hadn’t seen many people talkin’ about it in the blogger community, however it had a shit-tonne of great reviews on Beauty Bay and other online shops. So, of course, I eagerly clicked away and it arrived promptly at my door two days later.
I’ve got to admit that bloody adore this brush – it has completely mixed up my base makeup application and leaves my foundation looking pretty flawless. The bristles are fairly dense, so a stippling motion is required to remove any lines or streaks. However I have had no shedding, and the bristles, impressively, don’t absorb that much product. This applies more beautifully with a thick high-coverage foundation much as the Estee Lauder Double Wear, and is slightly harder to blend out with a thinner med-low coverage like the NARS Sheer Glow.
If you had eagle eyes this month, you will have probably spotted my Sleek Matte Me new shade low-down post – where I swatched the new shades and tried out the formula. (If not, you can have a read here!) Since then, I’ve been wearing Velvet Slipper for any reason possible & *ahem* popping to Tesco is a reason, I’ll have you know. It’s just the perfect dusty rose shade, that dries to a very weightless matte texture – I seriously can’t get enough, guys…
I’ve been spritzing this lil’ gem on my face before applying makeup, after applying my base, and after finishing the entire application and I really have found that my makeup stays looking fresh and glowing for much longer – especially my colour powder application (ie contour, bronzer, and blusher).
It does give skin a radiant dewy glow, and sometimes my skin can look a tad on the greasy side over time when using this product (I have very oily skin). However a little blotting paper, or mattifying powder, and my makeup is almost as good as new. The packaging does squirt out product rather than produce a mist – so the distance away from your face really does matter.
This used to be my scrubby essencial a few years ago, and for some reason that I can’t really remember, I sadly fell out of love with this product. However, I have been on the lookout for a very thorough facial scrub to help me cleanse out my open pores and fight spots. So after stumbling across this bad boy in Boots, I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and popped it in my basket. After using it for the first time again, I really did re-discover why I initially swore by it – & there’s certainly no going back now.
I’ve been wearing a lot of products on my face recently as I’ve had a lot of bloggermail and other brand new purchases that I just had to try out! So I’ve pretty much been wearing a full face of makeup almost everyday. Because of this, my skin has definitely been feeling the negative effects of wearing too much makeup this month – eek! I’ve been using my go-to deep cleanser by Liz Earle to really work those makeup products out of my skin. The muslin cloth is perfect to delicately buff away impurities whilst the formula works away on your skin, leaving you feeling refreshed and moisturised!
I love love love popping into TK Maxx whenever I need any new body products, as they have such a wide selection and you get a hell of a deal too. I picked this shower gel up for half the RRP after giving it a sniff in store and falling for the scent completely. The scent is a very fresh citrus & coconut concoction, that isn’t too “fake” smelling or strong and irritating. Oh, and it does linger on this skin too! I really can’t fault the actual formula, it softens my skin and leaves me feeling wonderfully moisturised.
I got this little beauty in a beauty box a few months ago, however I really wasn’t too fussed about the product. I had a brief read of the product description and put simply, I was just not blown away. I threw it in the shower, and thought that it might make a good addition to my skincare collection. A few days later, I ran out of my trusty everyday cleanser and grabbed this out of impulse, and ohhhh boy, was this a game-changer.
You only need to take the tiniest amount of cleanser with a little bit of cool water, to create a lather in your hands. The lather is so soft and fine that it does have a very satin feel to it on the face – which I absolutely love. I use this after removing my makeup to fully cleanse my face, and it always leaves my skin feeling glowing and radiant – yaaas!
My rose gold hair secret has been revealed! I am going to do a more detailed post about how to get a unique, personalised blush-rose hue for your hair colour, but I really did want to give this a mention as this is a brand that rarely (if ever) gets a look in when it comes to Semi-Permanent hair dye mentions/posts- and it is one of the best I’ve tried. I don’t get any colour rubbing off on my clothes, and the colour itself doesn’t fade as quickly as other brands that I’ve used. I simply can’t get enough of this beautiful warm-toned pink shade too!
What have you been loving this month?
