Bonjour my lil petit pois, how’s your weekend going? I’ve been a bit *blah* when it comes to beauty content recently, so I’ve decided to change things up a bit. Here are the beauty products that always seem to wow me no matter when and how I use them, especially for their cost. I’ve featured a mix of high end and high street to satisfy all of your holy-grail needs, but IMO if you purchase any of these you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
If you’re looking for a comfortable satin/matte lipstick that is creamy, non-drying and looks amazing on the lips all day long – give this one a try. This is my “throw in the handbag and go” lipstick, the nudes in the collection are so wearable. These are a little pricey but you get loads of pigment in one swipe and the formula lasts ages on the lips, so I totally think it’s worth the splurge. Plus, if you nail it and get that one shade that will do you for everyday, it’ll become a handbag staple for sure.
When I first bought this online, I thought it was going to be a much deeper, more burgundy toned blush. This shade, however, is so wearable and looks stunning on the skin. It melts in and blends like a dream, but you do need to go in really lightly and tap off the excess as this lil guy is pigmented omg. I’m definitely going to be picking up a few more of these because they’re so worth it for the price. Probably my fave drugstore blush formula yet!
Everyone’s about that colour correction these days and people really are splurging on shades to perfect their skin tones, but do you really need to spend all that £££? I’ve found the most inexpensive peach colour corrector that really does banish under eye darkness, and it’ll only set you back £3.00. Yup, the CC cream is so cheap, but really does the job. I layer this under my usual concealers and it never looks cakey or packed on. The best application is 100% a damp beauty sponge to really blend it out. For £3.00, I couldn’t recommend this more.
Everytime someone says “I can’t find a good liquid liner that isn’t high end and esssspensive” I’m like, girl what?! The Stila liquid liner is so, so bloody good. It’s a felt tip liner which isn’t everyone’s favourite but I actually much prefer this to a brush tip personally. The colour is really black, it doesn’t budge, and it really is waterproof. If you need an intensely pigmented black liner that lasts, you should try this out. Plus, it doesn’t break the bank coming in at £14.50!
Benefit sent this over to me a few months ago, and it’s still my go-to cream contour. Not that that’s saying much as I’m not the biggest cream contour fan, but this one has me converted guys. I use it all the time to really pack that contour powder for the long haul, especially if I need to be wearing my face of makeup all day. Its’s easy to use, blends really well with a makeup sponge, and the tone isn’t ashy at all. Some would argue it isn’t ashy enough, but it looks quite bronze-y and natural compared to a lot of cream contour shades.
This is ridiculously hard to get hold of in the UK, but if you can, you should. I’ve had this bronzer in my collection for 2 years now (off KathleenLight’s recommendation, obvz) and it quickly became holy grail status… and it still is. This is still by far my fave ever bronzer and I don’t think I’ll find anything to top it. I have a very heavy hand, so this shade “Light Bronzer” is perfectly buildable, allowing you to have a little bit more playtime with the product. The formula blends like a dream, and isn’t on the oompah-loopah side of orange at all.
I honestly don’t know what I did before I invested in this bad boy. I’ve always loved the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray, but I didn’t really like the smell or the old packaging which just put me off repurchasing, especially for the price! After seeing this scented spray get all hyped up on social media and YT, I opted for my fave scent ~ Watermelon ~ which is dreamy. I’m not very sensitive to scents, and I have oily skin, which makes this matte effect scented-spray my idea of heaven. If you’re looking for a spray that smells god damn amazing, whilst keeping the oily at bay, this one’s for you.
What surprisingly good products do you have in your collection?
