A fragrance is arguable one of the best (or most questionable) products to gift during the festive time, because it’s a very personal choice – right? Now if only you could narrow the luxury fragrances to a few crowd-pleasers that will blow your special someone away…
I’ve created a little Luxury Fragrance Gift Guide for you all full to the brim of my favourite luxury fragrances, that I think would make a perfect gift this xmas. All 5 of these fragrances I really can’t get enough of, and they all have a special place in my vanity for last minute perfume top-ups before I leave the house. I think these would all make grand gifts for that mum, sister, aunty, niece… in your life that needs something a little luxury, or just that gift that makes them go *wow* this Christmas.
Honestly, I haven’t stopped wearing this fragrances day-in-day-out for about two weeks now. Out of all the perfumes I own, this is definitely the one that I spritz on and make that “mmm” or “oooh” sounds (almost literally aloud) whenever I go to wear it. Ahem, not only is the packaging to die for ~ hey, blush pink fantasy ~ but you also get a lot of bang for your buck.
This bottle of perfume is much bigger in person, and it’s definitely not one I’d pick to travel with – however, you do really get a lot of product for the splurge at £80 for 100ml (the largest size). This scent is everything feminine & floral, with a hearty underlying musk-ness.
Top notes are rose and peony (umm, yum!) which are enhanced with notes of pink peppercorn, musk, patchouli and amber. Yep, it’s really as delicate and deep as you expect, plus the fragrance sits on the skin, hair, and clothing for an impressive amount of time – I can still catch wafts of this on me as I travel home after a day exploring the big city.
I’ve had this fragrance for a while now, and I really do only wear this on special occasions as it is the most pricey out of all of my fragrances. An 100ml bottle of this will set you back £115 at Selfridges *gasp*, so it really is a birthday/anniversary/christmas splurge at it’s finest. The Black Orchid is defined as that signature Tom Ford evening scent, whereas the Velvet Orchid is more daytime (imo), and let’s not even talk about the Orchid Soleil as I can’t stand the intense amount of tuberose.
I don’t really see the average person simply dropping by the Tom Ford counter to buy this one a regular day – so Christmas is a great excuse to finally purchase that Tom Ford fragrance that your someone special had had their eye on.
This is definitely more of an affordable, luxury perfume and would be perfect to gift this year if you’re a little strapped for cash (aren’t we all this time of the year?) or perhaps for a younger gal in the family like a little niece or sister that wants to get into their beauty.
The scent is very bright and refreshing, it’s a great “I naturally smell this good” scent that doesn’t have that overwhelming perfume whiff that some just really don’t like, or perhaps is a bit much for a younger, more teenage audience. This doesn’t last nearly as long on the skin as it’s an eau de toilette, not an eau de parfum (apparently that’s the difference in a nutshell) so don’t expect maximum perfume strength here.
To compare, 90ml of this parfum will leave you £74.00 out of pocket, *however* this perfume is always on some form of sale or deal – you can grab a big 200ml size with engraving right now at The Perfume Shop for £49.99!

This limited edition version of the classic Jimmy Choo Fragrance has the cutest packaging, right?! The original is in a transparent glass bottle, but there’s something about rose gold that instantly makes something more pretty n’ luxe, eh? This fragrance is a wonderful twist on the original eau de parfum by Jimmy Choo – with top notes of candied orange and tiger orchids, followed by a heart of toffee in the mid-notes, and an intense base of patchouli and sandalwood.
This limited edition bottle only comes in a 60 ml size which will set you back around £54.00 in shops like Debenhams and Boots Fragrances. I think it’s just worth it for the bottle, I’m in LOVE, but the fragrance is a good’un too – plus, what’s better than giving Limited Edition this Christmas?
If you’re looking for a fragrance for *that* woman in your life that has everything – I think this would be your best bet. This packaging is bougee as anything, it’s beautiful, sassy, feminine, it’s a bloody pom pom guys?! This beauty of a perfume looks like an old school powder puff and I’m woman enough to admit that this sits on my vanity as a statement piece.
Definitely one for a more mature woman, not in an age sense, in a personality sense. This perfume is very sexy, feminine, and seductive, and would suit a woman who oozes that confidence. The main notes are iris, patchouli, black current, white musk, and some soft notes of caramel/toffee. This scent has wonderfully powdery and sweet undertones, with a flirty floral top.
100ml will cost you £117.00, so probably the most luxury, of all of these luxury fragrances – however, the staying power and strength of this parfum is beyond impressive, so I would argue that a 50ml bottle would do anyone well. You only need two spritz at the start of the day and the scent lingers wonderfully into the evening.
What fragrances do you love giving or receiving at Christmas time?
