Even though the Welsh skies are a grim grey tone rn, and the rain hasn’t stopped pouring, I have been all over the fake-it trend this summer. I have never really been into self tanning or bronzers, but this year has seen a change in this lil kitty and I’ve been delving into the world of bronzers more than ever before. Due to the fact that I’ve never before been a bronzer fanatic, I haven’t managed to part with a considerable amount of dosh over a pan of shimmery glow. So here are my top 5 fave drugstore (affordable) bronzers that have totally stolen my heart.
PHYSICIANS FORMULA BUTTER BRONZER in Light Bronzer (£11.25)
You guys know that I’m all about this bronzer. It’s the first bronzer that I genuinely fell in love with, and I’m still completely infatuated with it. It smells like pina coladas, and girl, that’s never a bad thing. I also love the fact that it has some delicate shimmer to it, that isn’t chunky at all, and glides on for an effortless sun-kissed glow. This also lasts all day for me, even with my dead difficult oily skin, ahem winner much?
I did buy this in Los Angeles, but if you’re from the UK you can pick it up on Amazon or Ebay!
CIATE X OLIVIA PALERMO DUO in Bluff Point (£25.00 – SALE for £9.99)
I picked this up in TK Maxx purely because I loved the packaging, little did I know that I was picking up a real gem. The bronze shade is a perfect warm toned matte, which blends in like butter and warms the face in an instant. It’s definitely more of a sophisticated glow, so I enjoy wearing this for nights out. Plus, the blush included in this duo is a perfect evening blush to accompany any bronzed look.
MAKEUP REVOLUTION HIGHLIGHTER PALETTE in Glow (£8.00)
This palette has 3 illuminating shades, and the shade Glow is perfect to layer over foundation or even on top of a bronzer for added radiance and glow. The coverage is very delicate and sheer, so it’s perfect for someone who’s a little bronzer shy. It’s also great to add a quick pick me up to a tinted moisturiser or BB/CC cream, for a natural glow.
SEVENTEEN INSTANT GLOW BRONZING ROCKS in Pink Bronze* (£4.99)
As soon as I saw these bronzing rocks, I was won over instantly. I love the whole idea of swirling your brush over rocks of bronzy-goodness to warm up your complexion, and thats exactly what this baby does. I love that there’s some rosey rocks in there too, to get that “just caught the sun” look with only one quick application.
W7 HOLLYWOOD BRONZE & GLOW (£5.95)
This is supposed to be a dupe of the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow and you can definitely tell from the similar name, and similar pan designs. However, I can’t speak for the CT original as I don’t have the good fortune to own one m’self. However, for around £6.00, you really can’t go wrong with this. For me, this shade is way too shimmery to contour my cheekbones etc, however it’s the perfect in between warm-cool shade that adds a very attractive warmth to the face. It is a tiny bit on the chalky side, but with a good bronzer brush and a little blending it’s certainly no problem.
