One question that I always get asked is if I have a beauty routine, and which products I need to have in my product arsenal. These are the products that, for me, completely surpassed my expectation and I either have been, or will be, using them for years.
1. Maybelline EyeStudio Color Tattoo 24hr Eyeshadow in On and On Bronze (£4.99/each)
This is my all time favourite eyeshadows, everything about it is perfect. The colour has just the right tone to be effortlessly wearable, and the metallic shimmer isn’t too overwhelming. Even the texture gets a big thumbs up from me, its not so soft that application becomes sloppy, and not hard enough hat you have to drag that delicate skin around to move the product. This is definitely my go-to eye product when I’m in a rush and can only manage to get one product on my lids before running out the door. Also, if you have brown eyes, this is the shade for you.
2. Lipcote Original Lipstick Sealer (£3.69/each)
This product is the grail of all the grails. You know that lovely shade of lippy that you bought for £2.99 on a whim, but just wont stay on your lips? Well it will now. This amazing little bottle is a lipstick sealer that really does work, and I never leave for a night out without it.
3. L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes in Extra Black (£9.99/each)
A lot of people really don’t like this mascara, but I can’t think why for the life of me. I’ve been using it for about 5 years now, and it never ceases to impress me. My short, stumpy lashes are transformed into lengthly, defined eye-framers that any Asian girl dreams of. I have tried other brands, formulas, brushes – and nothing comes close to this.
4. Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade in Dark Brown (£15.00/each) and Anastasia Beverly Hills Large Synthetic Duo Brush #12 (£15.00/each)
Okay so technically this is two products but I don’t use one without the other so I’ll count it as one, cheeky. If you love your brows, you need this in your life! It completely levelled up my brow game. I bought the ABH Dip Brow about a year ago now, and I still have loads of product left. This is because you only need the tiniest amount of product to fill in, and shape, your brows – and this product lasts all day. It lasts through 9 hours of frantic deadline-day coursework writing in the library, and 4+ hours in a sweaty club. Seriously, when I get in from a mad night out, my brows are always still perfectly in place – even if the rest of my make up has all but disappeared. I’m going to be bold enough to say that the combination of these two products is probably the best beauty investment that I’ve ever made.
5. Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso (£6.00/each)
This might be a relatively new product for me, but it’s right up there with the great golden oldies. It has completely changed my every day make up look, for the better! People have started commenting on how “healthy” and “bright” my skin is looking – and I think that it’s all down to this.
So there it is, my holy grail beauty products that I simply couldn’t do without.
