My High End Beauty Starter Pack

As a recent graduate, I know how scary buying high end makeup products can be - especially if you don't have a lot of disposable income and just want to treat yourself now and again. When I was a student I treated myself to a few high ends items here and there (usually on Christmas or loan day oops) and came across some absolute duds that really were not worth the money and gave me splurge regret. I feel like these would be the products that I would repurchase if I had to rebuild my high end makeup collection, and would have #noragrets (high five if you get the reference) about splurging on.

BLENDING BRUSH
 Magnitone BlendUp Makeup Brush*

If you have the money to spend on an expensive brush, this should be it. I'm going to keep this short and sweet as you can read my full Magnitone BlendUp review right here. But it's so worth the splurge: it's super fast, fab at blending, and makes cream product go further (saving you money!)

PRIMER
Make Up For Ever Mattifying Primer

I bought this about a year and a half ago whilst I was in L.A. and it's lasted me until now! A little goes a long way with this primer, but it really is worth the high end price tag. I only ever wear this on special occasions or nights out, but this silicon based primer gives me a lot of smoothness around my large pores which leaves me with a flawless surface to apply foundation on.

FOUNDATION
YSL All Hours Foundation

Guys, if you're oily/combo and into a full coverage, long lasting base - then you're adore this. Honestly, one of the best foundations I've tried as this doesn't leave me cakey or slide around on my skin. Keeping this short and sweet as I did a full review on the YSL All Hours Foundation, which you can read here!

CONCEALER
Too Faced Born This Way Concealer*

This has (weirdly) been my fave concealer for about 2 years now, and nothing has come close IMO. I love a natural looking concealer that's light and not cakey and this is the perfect product for me. This is also a fab concealer if you have dry skin around your eyes as it's full of yummy coconut water to keep delicate skin hydrated.

I actually ran out of this stuff a month ago and decided to do a "project pan"-type thing with all of my other concealers that never see the light of day so I can start clearing through some of my makeup. TBH, I really miss this concealer and as soon as I get through my three other concealers, I'll be repurchasing this one again.

BRONZER

Oh my gaaaaawd, the hype is real - this is a beautiful cream bronzer. I bought this on a whim as so many people were talking about how good it is, and it really is so pretty on the skin. The shade is just the right amount of warmth for my skin, and it blends in so bloody well. Also, you only need a tiny bit per application so this pot is going to last me ages, despite how expensive it is! I apply this after foundation with my Magnitone BlendUP which does a super quick blending job. I literally dab this into the product twice to get enough to bronze my whole face and the effect is v. pretty.

CONTOUR
Rodial Instaglam Compact Deluxe Contouring Powder*

This is such a pricey contour product but I love using it nonetheless. It's quite annoyingly large, so I never travel with this, and that really is my only gripe. IKR, I'm complaining about the product being "too big" but realistically I'd like to pay slightly less money and get a smaller, more travel-friendly compact. Anyway, the product itself is beautifully blendable and buttery, which simply melts on the skin while you sculpt your cheekbones.

BLUSH
Marc Jacobs Air Blush in Flesh & Fantasy

I bought this on a whim after looking for a warm berry toned nude blush to wear as an understated perky pop of colour for day to day, and this blush 100% provides that aesthetic. It has a really soft, satin texture that blends into the skin and doesn't leave any sort of powdery feel on the surface of the cheeks. Plus, due to the way the pan is set out you can choose how sheer you want your blush application to be. Perfect with those who are heavy handed or prefer a muted blush.

HIGHLIGHT
Laura Mercier Face Illuminator in Indiscretion*

If you're looking for a very delicate, glowing-from-within highlight then you should definitely check this line of highlighters out. I actually received this as a gift from Birchbox, so I didn't pick the shade which meant I was really apprehensive about it at first. Turns out, this is the perfect "candlelit glow" on the cheekbone. This is no way a *boom* in ya face sort of highlighter, so it's best to try it without that expectation. It really does melt into the skin and looks like a very natural, but glowy sheen.

BROWS
Eye of Horus Brow Fibre Extend in Nile*

This is my new holy grail brow product, and I'm head over heels. It is pricey for a brow product, but my other brow fibres are around about the same price, and I always reach for this one more. I love the ashy tone to this shade, Nile, which matches my natural deep brown hair colour perfectly. Plus, it builds up just the right amount without clumping or over-applying product too quickly and it dries quickly which minimises smudging. I also love love love the fact that the wand is significantly longer than all of my other fibre brow products which allows you to have more control during shaping.

MASCARA
Benefit Roller Lash*

Ahhhh, this is by far my ultimate holy grail high end mascara. I have short, straight, stumpy lashes and this mascara does everything I need it to and I'm totally willing to keep splurging on this item for years to come. If you're looking for an intense black mascara that lengthens and holds curl - you're in for a treat with this one!

LIPSTICK
Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution in Bond Girl*

I've had this lippy for years now, and every time I wear it I always get compliments. It has the perfect nude undertone for gals who aren't a big fan of pink, and is definitely universally flattering. This is still the best high end lipstick that I've ever bought!
