Cohorted March 2017 | Unboxing & Review

Let's face it, it's been ageees since my last Cohorted* review, and tbh I've missed seeing the sleek, black packaging in my post every month. It's hard to fathom that the last Cohorted Beauty Box review that featured on TKL was way back in November, and it feels like it was only yesterday when I popped open the lid to reveal all the high-end magic inside.

The Cohorted Black Edition beauty box promises to be full to the brim of 5 high-end products from your fave brands, and retails for a decent £35 (inc. P&P) with a usual box value of around £60 or more. Like I mentioned earlier in the post, the packaging is to die for - Plus, I really don't mind that it's the same simplistic, matte black box every month. I love keeping mind to stack up beauty supplies and samples whilst in keeping with my minimalist interior style.

What's In The Box?

Pur Minerals Secret Crush Eyeshadow Palette* RRP £24.00

Unfortunately I already own this palette, and I've had it for yeaaaars now so it didn't have the biggest "wow" factor when I opened this months box. However, if you haven't got this one I bet it's a welcome surprise. As I have had the pleasure of working with these shadows for a while I can totally give you the downlow.

This palette is full of workable, flattering eyeshadows including 4 mattes and 4 shimmer shades that work together in different combos to create simple, yet effective looks. The rosey gold & bronzey shades are my faves in this palette - and the matte black is pretty damn good too. Plus the palette is relatively small so you could definitely take it on-the-go! Oh, and the packaging is rather cute too.

Living Proof Healthy Hair 5-in-1 Styling Treatment* RRP £14.00 / 60ml

Yaaaas Cohorted give me all the hair treatments. FYI - My hair is still recovering from my latest chemical attack with pretty harsh bleach/chemicals and I am willing to try ALL the hair care products that could possible help me style my locks with ease. As you wouldn't need to use a lot of this product, the 60ml sample size is cool with me. It contains Living Proofs' patented Healthy Hair Molecule (OFPMA) and Thickening Molecule (PBAE), and promises to deliver 5 benefits for healthy looking hair, everyday: Smoothness, volume, conditioning, strength and polish.

Lancome Absolue Yeux Precious Cells Eye Care* RRP £85.00 / 20ml

Yes, I finally have my hands on a sample of this stuff... I've heard so much about this product in my year and a half of blogging & everyone has so many good things to say about it, but the full size product costs an absolute bomb. I just really hope that it lives up to my expectations as I'm still looking for that miracle eye cream to be my holy grail product. At a 3ml sample size, the actual value of product is a nifty £12.75!

Vintage Cosmetics Eyelash Curler* RRP £8.50

I've never been so happy to see an eyelash curler in a beauty box. Seriously, I've been putting off buying one for ageees after I lost my old, trusty, Revlon variety in my house move. This curler is the most gorgeous rose gold colour (ummm, yes that does matter..) & I have actually tried brushes from this brand before and have always been pleasantly impressed.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Beauty Balm* RRP £23.50 / 35ml

Eeeeeek. Okay, I'm not sure about where to begin with this one. When I was reading through the Beauty Edit (the lil mag inside the box) this was described as a simple beauty balm thats purrrfect for creating a gr8 makeup base by blurring imperfections and create lovely looking skin, fab huh? However when I looked at the beauty balm that I was sent there was a sticker on it that said "Bronzing" that was missing from the image in the Beauty Edit - Hmm?

After swatching it and applying it my whole hand, I did find it to be slightly on the orange side and a bit too dark for all over application on my Light skin tone. I will, however, strive to find a way to make it work as it did make my skin feel amazingly soft and I love balm-type primers. Plus, issa full size product and that it beyond fab.

Overall Opinion

I was pleasantly surprised by all the goodies inside the March box tbh, and if I didn't already have the palette included inside, it would have been a 10/10 #winner in my eyes. I think that this is a great box to recieve if you're really into your high end beauty, or just starting out, as there's a wide variety of brands to sink your teeth into.

I have the same gripe with Cohorted every month, which is that I don't think they give an accurate representation of the value of the box for how much product you actually recieve. Cohorted have given a box value of £71.00, however I've actually calculated a value higher than that at a crazy £82.75. Why? I have no idea, but I'm certainly not complaining!

What would you look forward to most in the March box?
