My 15 Minute Morning Makeup

Now that I've finally got into the swing of things on my Masters Year (and realised that I have a ridiculously large workload) I've had to get seriously savvy with my beauty routine. I have about 15/20 minutes to doll myself up in the morn before heading to uni for a full 9-5 day of engineering activities with little time to do any touch ups. This means that my makeup needs to last as long as possible whilst looking natural & effortless. Yup, it's a bit of a challenge, but I think that I have finally found the right combination of products to tick all of those boxes. You ready? Let's go!

SKINCARE

NYX Pore Filler Face Primer*

I always start off with a mattifying/oil reducing base as I have such oily skin, and as the day goes on my makeup does have the tendency to lip and slide, everywhere. I got this Moisturiser in my last Birchbox, and I love it - it does a great job at keeping you skin very matte without drying it out at all!

Shhh, I've been really into Multi-Priming recently. I'm hoping to find the time to do a full blog post on it, but I simply pop on different primers to different areas of my face. Pore filling on the nose area, and moisturizing on the forehead and around the lips. The Hangover Primer and NYX Pore Filler Primer have been my two fave products to do this with & they both get an A* from me.

FACE

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter

I've spoken about so many of these products before, so I'm just going to give you a brief summary. Most of these products are high street, so they're super affordable and totally worth it if you wear makeup on most days. This Bourjois Foundation really does last all day, and looks totally natural - my skin always looks fab when I'm wearing this. Especially when I conceal with the (slightly more pricey) Too Faced Concealer and the NYX HD Powder that I swear by.

The combination of the MUG Contour, Milani Blush, Bourjois Bronzer, & The Balm Highlight last all day. I mean it, they last all day even without a setting spray, which is pretty damn impressive in my books. The Highlight does dull down a bit, but I don't really need a #YAAASQween glow on a daily basis, so that's pretty a-okay with me.

EYES

If you've seen any of my IG selfies or stories recently, you'll probably notice that my go-to look right now is super simple. I simply set my concealer on my eyelids with a powder, then go in with this NYX shadow as a very intense inner corner highlight (usually with MAC Fix+ if I have time). Then I'll draw a winged liner, not too dramatic or thick, followed by lining the upper waterline with NYX Tres Jolie. I finish by adding lashings off the Better Than Sex Mascara, which is debatable but puts up a very, very good argument - extreme volume, length, and colour.

Uni lips are all about going nude, nude, & nude. Okay, so now and again I do put on a lil' pop of pink or red. But that natural, effortless makeup look can't be finished with anything but a nude lip for everyday wear. I have about 20 nude lippies, but this one by NYX has been my recent go-to fave. The formula is perfect, as it doesn't wear awkwardly like a liquid-to-matte, and is so comfortable. If you've ever experienced a "Comfort Matte" lipstick, this is very similar, just in liquid form. Of course, I always have my trust EOS on hand for to alleviate any dry patches.

FRAGRANCE

I thought that I might aswell add my monthly signature scent as I haven't been able to put this one down since I recieved it in the post. It's feminine, sultry, and a little sexy - it definitely has the power to boost your confidence, everyday. Psst, get 20% off everything at Boux Avenue with my code: "KITTYBOUX"

  6. How you do this in 15 minutes is beyond me. I take aaaaages. Probably because I've just woken up and I just take my time with everything. I do admit, I am a bit of a perfectionist. That Boux spray is my fave, working for them has its perks x
