Metallic White Liquid Liner Tutorial, Party Season Style + ***LYDC GIVEAWAY***

***SCROLL DOWN FOR THE GIVEAWAY***

So recently I was contacted by LYDC and was asked to post my take on a holographic/metallic party season make up look. I posted a little white liquid liner picture on Instagram and people went a bit nuts over it, so I thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to show you how to create a wearable, but eye-catching liner tutorial that will make you stand out from the crowd at your christmas parties.

METALLIC WHITE LINER TUTORIAL

1) Start off with clean, moisturised skin. I've applied an illuminating base primer by Emite Make Up on my face, and Urban Decay Original Eyeshadow Primer Potion on my lids, all the way up to my brow bone. (I've also got my brows filled in)

2) Apply a pale/matte base colour to the entire lid, and blend up to the brow bone. Here, I've used Foxy from the Urban Decay (UD) Naked 2 Palette.

3) Apply a matte mid-brown colour into the crease using windscreen wiper motions - I used Tease from UD Naked 2. If you have hooded eyes like me (i.e. you have a fold of skin that hoods over the actual lid) then apply about 2-3mm higher than your real crease, and blend upwards. If you don't have hooded eyes then you are very lucky and can just apply as the shadow falls in your socket crease.

4) Add black winger liner, as thin or as thick as you like - although I think a thinner line works better with this look. Plus this doesn't have to be super tidy, we'll clean it up later. I used Stila All Day Water Proof Liquid Liner in Black.

5) As a base illuminator, and a sort-of adhesive layer for the metallic shadows - I applied NARS Illuminator in Copacabana on my eyelid only. I feel like helps the metallic shimmer in shadows "stick" onto my lid better. I then applied the Naked 2 shades (in this order) - Verve, YDK, Pistol on the flat side of a precise eyeshadow brush, in patting (not sweeping) motions to pack on the colour.

6) Now it's time for the white liner, I used NYX White Liquid Liner and applied using the applicator provided in the tube. Follow the natural curve of your eye, and join to the black liner (This can take some practice, but it's worth it!) This is best done in a lot of small lines, rather than in one motion - and two layers is opaque enough. If you hooded eyes, again go 2-3mm higher than your natural crease, and take the liner to the centre of the lid only if you have small eyes like me.

7) Clean up the edges/flick of the liner with a wet wipe to get that fierce finish. And maybe blend the crease colour out better than me, I'm a bit useless with a blending brush.

8) EXTRAS:

These are little tweaks that you might not need, but my tiny eyes really do. I've added Sleek Eau La La Liner in White Noise on my lower waterline to make my eyes appear bigger, and lashings of my fave mascara L'oreal Volume Million Lashes in Extra Black on top and bottom lashes. You could go for some false lashes, but I think they detract from the impact of the white liquid liner. I also took the crease colour Tease and almost created a subtle cut crease above the white liner - cut this out if you want a more natural look, and go for a matte black shadow if you're feeling extra sassy.

GIVEAWAY

So recently I have collaborated with LYDC to bring my followers a little treat in terms of a giveaway!

I am such a sucker for anything holographic, metallic, and shiny - so their bag organisers really did catch my eye. If you read my posts regularly, you will know that I am a bit of an obsessive organiser (oops) and these are absolutely fab, if like me you like to keep everything sorted and safe. They feature a strong metal clasp to lock it onto your bag, whilst looking girly and chic.

I have taken to using mine inside my clutch bags, because I am the clumsiest thing going. They fit perfectly inside a regular clutch or even a larger bag, and hold valubles like ID's and bankcards. I always find myself carelessly throwing my cards and key into my bag on a night out, and then panicking when I can't easily find them when I've had a few too many. One quick glance into my clutch, and due to the holographic effect of the organisers, I can confirm that I still have my shit together *initiate party poppers*

Or if you are a proper purse carrying girl, how about using it to secure an essential eyeliner or lipstick?

Throwback to when the clasp on my clutch randomly opened on the dancefloor and out rolled my NARS Audacious Lipstick, never to be seen again.
